Water Based Ink, full name called water based textile printing ink, is a kind of newly Eco-friendly Environmental protective screen printing & digital printing ink. It have very wide application in many industry, it can be used for fabric, textile, clothing, garment, apparel’s printing even towel, napkin, shoe and paper printing, to get various colorful printing patterns and effects.
Water Based Ink, There are some other kinds of sayings, someone called water based printing paste or rubber paste, as its raw material is Acrylic resin, and it is a paste shape liquid; some other people called it water based binder, as binder can mean adhesive, actually water based ink is a kind of adhesive used to adhered to on the fabric and garment and then generate colorful print patterns, our normal saying is “to print”, but we can also say “to adhere to”.
Compared to Plastisol Ink and Solvent based Ink, Water Based Ink has a natural Eco-friendly and environmental advantage. It has much low heavy metal and formaldehyde compared to other kinds of inks, and it could easily pass the strict Environmental standard of European and America Countries.
For the Textile and Fabric Printing Inks, whether it is water based ink, plastisol ink, silicone ink or solvent based ink, it must balance the soft hand feel and good color fastness for the printing patterns. If we pay attention too much one color fastness, the hand feel may be not good; If we focus too much on hand feel, the color fastness may not reach the requirements.
Water Based Ink have good soft hand feel and covering on the fabric, and add some fixing agent, usually 1~3%, it will increase the washing fastness and color fastness very well.
After many years’ development, with economical cost and its unique and good features, water based ink has been widely used in the fabric pieces and garment printing industry worldwide. and it is widely used for the printing on cotton fabric, TC fabric, blended fabric, denim fabric, Waterproof nylon fabric and bags fabric etc.
